Sponsored by The Leicester Mercury Who We Are

The Big Dial Radio Co We are a group of people with direct experience of designing, planning and delivering community radio services to people living within Leicester and the South Leicestershire area, under the Radio Authority's Restricted Service Licence (RSL) facility. We have done this since 1996 and have so far conducted 6 month-long RSL broadcasts in three locations within the county. Our team includes individuals with several years proven experience in managing and advising community groups providing similar radio broadcasting in other towns or cities, including winning previous full time licences.

We are volunteers from a variety of business occupations, backed and supported by commercial organisations. We have the direct support of the leading newspaper and media group in the area. We have already enjoyed support from over 250 local companies and major national brand names like B&Q, Golden Wonder, The Co-Op, and Domino's Pizza Profits from our RSL broadcasts have often been donated to local charities.

Our proposed station will be a commercially viable community based business, managed and run by business and radio professionals but with a unique accessability to volunteers of all ages.

We are now located in the heart of Leicester City and have launched "Leicester's Newest Radio Station", The Wall. We have conducted two commercially and culturally successful Trial Service broadcasts since May 1999 and are campaigning for a new FM radio licence for this thriving city location.
