The 1997 RSLs covered events all over South Leicestershire bringing
many more towns and villages into focus. There was extensive coverage

Local historical stories, many unfamiliar to even long standing
residents amongst our listeners were produced by our Features Editor
Colette Hall, meticulously researching records and tales from
individuals and community institutions. Our "Town Crier"
feature (with real Town Crier) created opportunities for Community

from a fascinating variety of occupations. Civic heads and
representatives attended to discuss local matters, and a range of
specialist guests provided advice and guidance on a huge range of
subjects from first aid and educational opportunities to cooking and
motorcycle maintenance.
Daytime music and formats, including well known former local ILR
presenters, provided familiar voices and personalities. Evenings and
weekends featured more variety. Presenters produced shows for both
stations showcased on our overnight Jukebox. Listeners phoned in many

attended our radio shop to collect schedules or just drop in for a
chat. We sold over 100
